CELEBRATE EARTH DAY 2003--TUESDAY APRIL 22
GET THIS BEAUTIFUL POSTER CALENDAR IN TIME FOR EARTH DAY 2003!

Last fall, students in schools on Vancouver Island participated in a drawing contest that focused on Marine Conservation and Climate Change: Climate Change Affects All Of Us. As a result, we have produced a 23" x 35" full colour poster/calendar celebrating the childrens' understanding of this important environmental issue and featuring the top seven prize-winning student drawings.

This project was carried out jointly with a project in Samoa, so you will see the top three prize-winning drawings of Samoan students on this calendar, too. All this along with useful, informative text about marine conservation and climate change, references, and sponsors! Such a deal!

We sold the poster/calendars for a nominal price to cover postage and mailing tubes. Production of this poster was done by volunteers: Stefan Ochman, a director of Ocean Voice International who lives in Bamfield, organized the drawing contest and contacted the participating schools. I did the scientific research on marine conservation and climate change, wrote the text, coordinated the print production and getting the prizes to students, and the distribution. Printing costs were funded by the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada (AUCC) and Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA).
